by Laurel Phyall

UPDATE: Sadly, Mary passed away on April 5, 2018. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.

Earlier this year, friends, family and CWL members gathered at the Evergreen Seniors Home in Campbell River to celebrate Mary Pattison's 100th birthday.

Mary was born on February 2,1918 at Pitt Meadows, BC. As an infant she moved with her family to Nova Scotia. When she was 12 years old she moved to Merville on Vancouver Island, where she lived until her marriage to Cliff in 1944. The newly wed couple moved to Storey Beach, just south of Campbell River.

During Mary's working career, she worked at both the Comox and Campbell River hospitals as a cook and baker. She retired in 1985, and spent her time traveling to such destinations as New Zealand, Ireland and Nova Scotia. Mary has been living at the Evergreen Seniors Home for the past three years.
