Do You Want to Study in Rome with WUCWO?

This is a time sensitive opportunity for you to study in Rome with the World Union of Catholic Women’s Organizations (WUCWO). Here are the details on applying:

“Dear friend, 

I wish to inform you of the possibility for WUCWO women (aged 30-45) to apply to an Interdisciplinary Course for NGOs that will take place in Rome next September. 

Organised by the Pontifical Urbaniana University in cooperation with the Australian Catholic University (ACU) and in collaboration with various dicasteries of the Holy See the course if offered in the context of the ongoing global crisis, both human and anthropological, which, as the Holy Father has said, requires a coherent witness of life. The purpose of this course is precisely to allow us to face new challenges that today's world poses. 

The course aims to help participants acquire a specific and up-to-date set of skills in order to face current issues, in light of the Social Doctrine of the Church. It will also help strengthen the acclesial identity of WUCWO and the participant's organisation, as well their knowledge of the work of the Church and the Roman Curia. Place: Rome, Pontifical Urbaniana University

Language: English or Italian

Modality: in person

Credits: 6 ECTS

Fee: 500 euro

Application deadline: 5 June 2021

WUCWO has the possibility to partially sponsor 1 woman (aged 30-45) belonging to a WUCWO organisation and endorse the selected candidate to the University Urbaniana. WUCWO's sponsorship will cover half of the flight ticket and half of the course fee as reimbursement of expenses after the course. The candidate or her organisation will need to cover accommodation (ACU campus can provide accomodation for reasonable rates) and the rest of travel arrangements and course fee expenses.   

Applicant requirements:

- good knowledge of both spoken and written English or Italian

- recommendation letter from the President of her organisation

- CV in English or Italian

- Commitment and motivational letter of the candidate stating that she will attend the full course programme and fulfill all requirements and also how she thinks she could commit to help WUCWO after the course (until the end of 2022) on one or more of the course topics relevant to WUCWO (contributions for international agencies, institutional communication, deepen some of WUCWO's resolutions, etc.)

In my opinion from reading this email, I think that the opportunity would be open to all ages although the sponsorship scholarship is age limited.
