At the Spring 2019 Interim Meeting, Gerry Heywood (Diocesan Chair: Legislation/Resolutions) presented on the topic Social Justice and the Community Life Standing Committee.
This Spring’s meeting was attended by 70 members and most importantly was totally interactive. Instead of presenting reports, our President Christa Grillmair suggested we focus on our three core values: Faith, Service and Social Justice, through three interactive workshops. It gave all participants a chance to share thoughts and ideas, and provided opportunities for suggestions. Each value impacted the other by the end of the day.
Our Lady of the Rosary hosted the semi-annual meeting of the Victoria CWL Diocesan team on Monday, October 1, 2018. While the 31 members offered a Scriptural Rosary in the main hall, the 26 members of the executive, parish presidents, life members and provincial president met for a round-table discussion.
There was never a dull moment at the 71st BC & Yukon Catholic Women’s League Provincial Convention held in Whitehorse, Yukon from June 21 – 23, 2018. The small but vibrant Whitehorse Council hosted the 71stAnnual Provincial Convention of the BC/Yukon Council of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada (CWL) from June 20 – 24, 2018. The land of the midnight sun was an amazing venue for this Convention. The Convention was an opportunity to meet sisters from across the province (and country), to be fed spiritually, mentally, and physically, and to have fun.
