THEY'RE BACK!!! ST. EDWARD'S CWL CELEBRATE OUR LEAGUE'S ANNIVERSARY PT. II

St. Edward’s Council in Duncan wanted to do something to celebrate the CWL’s 100th Anniversary and because of COVID, we did it in two parts.

If you recall, 2020  was the year that Tita A. and a few members along with a few husbands got together with the Queen of Angels School Kindergarten Teacher and class and planted 100 Daffodils.  A lot of fun was had with the very keen children.

We made a promise that we would be back to count the blooms in Spring.  When we asked the children “How would they count them?” The response was “With our pointy fingers.”  Why do adults ask silly questions?

On hand to count were teacher Benda H., Educational Assistant Jolene D., CWL member Tita A., plus all these amazing students. (Also known as the pointy-fingered green thumbs.!)

Thank you to CWL member Brenda H., and the Kindergarten Class for counting the flowers of the bulbs we planted last fall.  All added up there were 200 blooms: I guess those pointy fingers can really count.  Thanks to Julie from CWL for assisting and taking photos. Tita commented that it was fun to count with the children and so awesome to sing with them too.

In 2021, we at last fulfilled our CWL National’s request to plant a tree to recognize our League’s 100th Anniversary!

Great help came from those who knew what and how to do this and we thank Mary and Gerry H.

On hand to celebrate the planting of the Satomi Pink Dogwood were members from left to right: Pat S, Francine Tournier, Mary H., Paula S., and Julie F.
