November … the month we remember the wars, and their cost, both emotional and physical.  We remember the dead and our deep sorrow; we remember the returning heroes and our relief; we remember and repeat our many thanks in face of our huge debt of gratitude. 

Lent is another beginning with Jesus. It is a fresh starting-again of our relationship with Him; it is a reminder of His love for us; and it also reaffirms our choice to love and serve Him.

For more than 30 years, the members of the Church of the Ascension Parish Council of the Catholic Women’s League have hosted a baby shower in support of life. On February 21, about 130 guests representing over 25 different churches and organizations gathered in Parksville to bring hundreds of baby gifts to support Nanaimo’s Crossroads Crisis Pregnancy Centre.
