Congratulations to Jane Brown for receiving her 45 year pin during Ascension Council’s Membership tea. Way to go, Jane, for all these years of dedication to the CWL!
WELCOME TO ST. PATRICK'S (CAMPBELL RIVER) CWL'S NEW PRESIDENT!
Linda Kubinec is the newly installed President of St. Patrick’s (Campbell River) Council of the CWL.
She was born in Edmonton, AB in 1952; but lived until she was seven in Niton, AB. With the death of her parents, she became an orphan and families in Peers and Edson to care of her until she was fortunate to be taken in by the Frith family. Monica and Ronald treated her like their own children and even took in my other siblings. They all moved to Campbell River when she was 15 years old.
FAITH IN ACTION BY ASCENSION PARISH'S CWL
Ascension Parish’s CWL is off to a fast start this year! Already they have installed their new executive council as well as planned out their events for the first half of this year. You can bet that they will add more and more events to this list, so stay posted. Sandi Degras has sent us a beautiful photo of the newly elected council. From left to right, these people are: Viola Cyr (Treasurer), Carmen Tellier (President), Gail Olyniuk (Past President), Maureen Murray (Spiritual) and Helen Metz (Secretary). . . .
TRINITY CATHOLIC PARISH CWL HOLDS AN ADVENT REFLECTION
A morning Advent Reflection took place at our Nanaimo Trinity Catholic Parish on December 12th, 2019. The newly formed Trinity CWL Council invited members of our parish as well as St. Peter’s (Nanaimo) Catholic Church members, to join us after Mass to take time during this busy Christmas season to stop and reflect on the reading of LUKE 10:38-42, the reflection of “MARTHA AND MARY”.
GETTING TO KNOW THE LEAGUE IN PORT HARDY AND PORT MCNEILL
Last fall, at the urging of the Bishop of Victoria, Gary Gordon, I contacted Father Dino Villadiego, pastor of the North Island Parishes regarding evaluating the interest of his parishioners in establishing a Catholic Women’s League Council within those parishes. Father Dino responded positively to have two members of the League travel with him, as he celebrated Mass in each of his four parishes.
