HELEN MCLELLAN RECEIVES HER 70 YEAR PIN!

My Friends, I am delighted to present to you, Helen McLellan, an avid member of St. Patrick’s CWL Council from 1951 up to this day. Despite her advanced age, she was still able to attend our council’s monthly meetings up until two years ago.

She was married and raised 5 children and she is widely known for her tasty candied apples. She says it is an honour to be a member of such a lovely and wonderful group of ladies at St. Patrick’s CWL. We say that she is a real gem!

We, too, have been honoured by her presence and awarded her the CWL 70 year pin. This pin is a public  testament to her life long dedication to our League and church community.

We tried to make a video of this presentation but it didn’t turn out as well as we wanted since it was taken through a window in her care home. Fortunately, one of her care givers took this great picture of her on this, her special day.

Well done, Helen, good and faithful servant.

Our Lady of the Rosary Plants Their Centennial Tree on Beautiful Spring Day, January 28th.

Our Lady of the Rosary CWL Council got together with Father Dean Henderson and planted their CWL Centennial tree at Hatley, Memorial Gardens. Not only were our members excited to be together on such a wonderful spring day, they hope this cherry tree will bring joyful memories of their council and parish to all who enjoy the gardens for a long time to come. Yes, in Langford, BC, January 29th is springtime!

St. Patrick CWL in Victoria Delivers Loads of Cookies!

St. Patrick CWL in Victoria Delivers Loads of Cookies!

The members of St. Patrick’s CWL Council (Victoria) may not be able to cure COVID 19, but they certainly know how to spread Christmas Cheer around to their isolated League sisters. Our gang at St. Pat’s cooked up a mess of cookies and distributed them along with Catholic calendars and prayer books to our isolated people at their houses and nursing homes. Berny did the baking and packaged them up professionally while Susie N. and Nancy S. delivered them.

Way to go, St. Pat’s and thank you, Lorrie V. for sharing this with us!
